The Missy Dumdy Fund

Missy Dumdy, Jerry's cousin, was diagnosed with cancer as a young mother. While she was quite courageous she succumbed to cancer and passed away in 1997. Her courage was a great inspiration to Jerry and sparked his mission to help children with cancer and chronic blood disorders.

Also, recognized through this fund, is a child who has been on past trips and lost his or her battle with cancer or a chronic blood disorder. During the week of the child's funeral, Jerry and Melissa send a meal, memorial book and card to the family. The following year, during the annual Winter Week trip, the child is recognized at the end-of-trip ceremony. It is the strong belief of Jerry and Melissa that once you participate in a Circle of Friends program you become a permanent part of the circle and will always be cherished and remembered
