"SeaGRapes" Wine Tasting a Success for Fourth Year in a Row.
WHAT: Former Seattle Seahawk Jerry Wunsch and the Wunsch Family Foundation along with Hectors Restaurant hosted a wine tasting and silent auction in Kirkland, WA. on December 10, 2007.
It was an evening filled with good taste and good cheer. Nine wineries from around the world were on hand to pour their finest selections of the year. Representatives from Willridge Winery, Veuve Cliquot champagnes of France, Chandon, Ruinart, Cape Mentell, Newton, Zisola, Castello de Fonterutoli and Marchesi joined us for an unforgettable evening. With its warm ambience and selection of fine foods, Hectors Restaurant once again provided us with the perfect backdrop for this event.
A silent auction filled with a selection of sports and entertainment items, jewelry, fine art, luxurious vacations and collectables were on display for bidding. Patrons had the opportunity to compete on over 60 items.
With the continuing support of Mr. Stuart McLeod and Hectors Restaurant, Ms. Kelleen Storino and Moet-Hennesy, the foundation was able to raise over $43,000 that evening. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Wunsch Family Foundation. The Foundation's mission is to provide children with cancer and chronic blood disorders emotional, motivational and memorable experiences through supportive and empowering opportunities. The Wunsch Family Foundation is able to reach children nation-wide through our Circle of Friends Programs. These programs include the Circle of Friends Winter Week, Circle of Friends Reunion and the Circle of Friends Ticket Program.
The Wunsch Family Foundation along with Mr. Jerry Wunsch and his wife Melissa would like to thank all of the businesses who donated to our silent auction, the wineries who participated in the pouring, the Grape Choice and the patrons themselves who made our night such a complete success. We would also like to thank the city of Kirkland and Downtown Kirkland on the Lake for its continued support of this event. It is because of people like this that we are able to continue to meet our goal of warming the heart of a child!
